How To Hygge Your Porch

Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is a Danish concept but there's no one word in English that describes it. It can be interpreted as creating a feeling of happiness, security, and coziness. It's about slowing down and being present in the moment. Overall, hygge is a lifestyle and in this blog we'll talk about ways you can adapt your porch to the Danish ways!

Soft Lighting

Simply adding soft lighting to your porch can change the whole ambience of it. Try adding candles, lamps, and even fairy lights to your space to add a warm glow. Check out these pretty lighting options from Urban Outfitters.

Cozy Decor

Adding lots of pillows and knit blankets will surely cozy up your porch. Plant yourself in front of the fireplace with a warm drink and you're living the hygge lifestyle. You can find a wonderful selection of fluffy pillows at  Pier 1 Imports and cozy knit blankets at Crate & Barrel.

Warm Drinks

Friends & Family

Hygge isn't always about things or objects, it can also be about creating moments which may include your friends and family. Have a gathering on your porch with your loved ones, be present with them and just live in the moment.
