Three-season porches are becoming increasingly popular as people desire to get more connected to the outdoors. A porch can be used as an additional living space for you and your family, a quiet getaway for yourself or an entertainment zone for your friends.

However you may use a  porch, there is one thing that consistently matters across the board: making a statement. We all have to admit, there is just something about having a space that is beautifully put together.

Today, bold colors and simple designs are what’s in. A simple clean look allows you to give your porch an updated feel while having bold colors allow you to express your style...loudly.

Check out these three ideas that are trending in 3-season porch decor right now:

1. Add some GREEN.

Bring the outdoors in by adding a few plants or vertical garden to your porch. A benefit of a 3-season porch is the ability to view the beauty of the outdoors without necessarily having to deal with the uncomfortable temperatures and pests. Adding some green here and there will give you the feeling that you are still outdoors.

Plants promote good health, positive energy and, if you pick the right kinds, contribute to keeping your air clean! Cacti and succulents are a hot pick at the moment. They are low maintenance and come in a variety of shapes and sizes to match your liking.

2. Mix it up.

In addition to simple designs and bold colors, this year textures and patterns are making a comeback. The days of matchy matchy have since left and now it's about bringing together unique and sleek pieces that meld together beautifully. The key to making this work is to identify a theme and colors (no more than 3-5) you’d like in the room. Once you have done that, don’t be afraid to start mixing and matching pieces, patterns and textures.

3. Make it a part of your home.

Determining the theme for your porch is totally up to your personal style. What matters most is that you have a space that fulfills your needs and wants. One thing we recommend is to focus on creating a space that feels a part of your home and not just an add on. Bring elements, colors, and patterns that already exist within and around your home to create a seamless transition from you home to your porch.

Make a statement with your porch this year by adding some green, shying away from traditional designs and being intentional in making connections between your outdoor living space and the rest of your home.
